Confidence Coaching

Confidence can mean a multitude of different things for different people but in reality, it simply means having faith in yourself. One might ask why confidence is so important in young girls or why is confidence important at all? A healthy sense of confidence is necessary to develop social skills to function as a person, become more resilient in the face of criticism, and most of all, embracing yourself just as you are – inside and outside the classroom. Having confidence means that you have a balanced view of yourself, having pride in what you have and what you don’t, and recognizing your flaws because inherently, all humans are flawed. Being confident not only means feeling good about yourself, but it also means knowing what kind of respect you deserve from others, the power of your voice, and the value of your self-worth. “What you learn about yourself early in life [as a young girl] will impact how you feel about yourself later.” (Lurie Daniels, Urban View, SiriusXM)

Elementary School

This age group is crucial because girls learn early the image of beauty. The workshop concentrates on building confidence through increasing positive self-identity and self-worth, embracing who you are and loving yourself.

Middle School

This age group is forming their personality and identity. Girls this age want more freedom but need more structure to become their best selves. The workshop focuses on self-exploration. It is important for girls to explore different things to find their interest and/or passion whether it is playing an instrument, sewing, medicine, playing golf, or saving the oceans. Interests may lead to a viable livelihood or career later in life. It is never too early to think about career paths for girls to dream big. Another arm of exploration is the various careers in STEM.

High School

This age group is knocking on the door of adulthood and will continue with self-exploration and self-discovery. Peer pressure and social media presence is fierce. Girls need to know that they can ascend above the pressure and be there resilient selves. Real-life scenarios will be discussed to help girls make better decisions and to help them embrace their own beautiful image; concentrating on coping mechanism skills, building confidence and motivation, and planning for the future.

Parent Workshops

We need to raise daughters to be strong and resilient. Self-confidence is a result of how we have been brought up. We learn our value through the eyes of our parents, our teacher, and our peers and these lessons affect how we view ourselves and how we view others. Low-confidence can be caused by fear of the unknown, criticism, poor self-esteem, feeling unprepared, poor time-management, lack of knowledge, and previous failures. So how can we help our girls so they can be more confident? Guiding parents to understand why confidence building is imperative in raising girls into adulthood has many benefits.

This workshop includes:

  • Offering ways to raise girls into confident women
  • Praising and appreciating their efforts
  • Being their cheerleader
  • Allowing them to try new things
  • Being a supportive parent and being in their corner
  • Inspiring them to take risks and letting them know it is okay to make mistakes

Educator Workshops

EDUCATE TO CONFIDENCE

Just like parents, teachers have an equally important role in confidence-building. Educators have the power to help or harm youth. Educators have the power to inspire, motivate, and expose their students to life lessons. Self-confidence encourages students to take risks, express their creativity, and helps them invest in the work they do at school. Teachers and parents both act as “models” for children and young girls and teachers should show them that it is okay to make mistakes and fail and that you should take accountability for your mistakes. Teaching girls that they can achieve whatever they put their minds too.
